Jason Holley for QG Magazine
Love the clarity and specific visual voice of Holley’s work. I guess that makes it very effective illustration. But these are also gripping images beyond the service of package design or adornment or editorial wit. Diving into his site, Holley has been crafting visual sonnets and making a career of that for a long time.
I found a few shots from a gallery show he’s done. They seem a bit less cutthroat and loaded than his illo pieces. But still pretty sweet.
There is a universe of west coast influence that Holley is a part of- and I think endless group shows I wish I could have seen. The Clayton Brothers are another encapsulating force. I just found that they have a tumblr - which is bound to be the bees knees.
