British-born engineer Roy Lunn (centre) and his team study a model of the prototype Ford Mustang 1, their two-seater sports car went on to inspire the iconic Ford Mustang production car, which was first made in 1964. The first Ford Mustang rolled off the production line in Detroit on 17 April 1964, 50 years ago today. It went on to inspire the lyrics of rock’n’roll songs and appear in Hollywood movies of the 1960s and beyond. (+)
